Joined up thinking: Members of Hereford Green Network, chaired by Caplor Energy’s Managing Director Gareth Williams, meet with local MP, Bill Wiggins
May 11, 2017 saw members of the Hereford Green Network (HGN), which is chaired by Caplor Energy’s Managing Director, Gareth Williams, meet with the North Herefordshire MP, Bill Wiggins.
The group raised concerns with Conservative MP Bill Wiggins about the government’s recent actions on issues related to energy and the local community. The meeting included discussions involving the Green Deal, Herefordshire’s hard-to-treat energy inefficient homes, community renewable energy projects and rural transport. The HGN members also raised concerns about broader national issues, such as energy price capping and changing environmental policy under Brexit.
The group took some excellent statistics to the meeting related to many of the issues they raised. Smiling, Bill Wiggins agreed with the HGN members, saying he would like to see more “joined up sensible steps” in Conservative Party energy policy.
The Hereford Green Network comprises of local environmental groups, activists, local community groups, environmental businesses and organisations, and Transition Town groups. The aim of HGN is to develop partnerships and joint efforts, which “strengthen the sustainability of all of our communities.”
“We aim to work in a way that is mutually supportive and inspiration, sharing resources, project ideas and opportunities, and developing local initiatives,” states the HGN.
The Hereford Green Network is chaired by the Caplor Group’s MD, Gareth Williams. Caplor is committed to helping the environment through the design, supply and installation of green energy systems.
