Since the beginning of August, Chris Knapton has been working with Caplor Energy during a four week placement, in conjunction with Graduate Advantage. The scheme is run by Aston University and offers graduates the chance to conduct further learning in a work based environment. During the placement, Chris has been developing ways to market Caplor Energy, especially to the local communities and farmers.
During the four weeks at Caplor, I have been part of the action from the start. The feeling of contributing to a company willing to give important renewable energy solutions has been extremely fulfilling. Further to this, the knowledge gained has been very rewarding and provided me with precious workplace skills, building on lessons learned from academic study. The placement at Caplor Energy gave me the chance to meet with local communities and understand how important sustainable living means to so many people in the local area. This has given me the incentive to pursue continued work in the industry, with the aim to encourage development and success in the sector.
Throughout the placement, the placement had me developing a range of marketing strategies for the company, helping the industry reach out to the members of the local area. One of the key links to the community I organised was the visit to Longtown Show, where Caplor Energy had a trade stand. This gave a fantastic chance to speak direct to the show visitors and meet some people interested in what the company and the industry is doing at present.
I would like to thank Caplor Energy for the opportunity to gain valuable work based skills and for their warm and friendly approach to having a graduate on board.
I wish the company every success in the future, with their passion and drive I’m certain they will continue to grow and accomplish everything they set out to do.
