To provide genuinely local food and reduce food miles, we have initiated a small market garden and free range egg enterprise. This was originally set up and run by Seb and Abbi, who were given the opportunity to develop a new rural business.
With more than 20 seasonal vegetable and salad crops and scrupulously managed free range hens, this small business currently supplies food to four local schools, restaurants, shops and individuals.

We encourage people to become involved in this project, and offer free food in exchange for time spent working with us. We are finding this scheme very popular with families who wish to spend some valuable time together in the countryside and connect with real food production.
We would also like to hear from anyone interested in deliveries of our local food and welcome anyone to come and ‘pick your own’.

As a result of their experience gained at the Eggs&veg business, Seb and Abbi have now gone on to run a business of market stalling in Hereford. They have passed on the Eggs&veg initiative to James Penton, who is now managing the production of local food at Caplor.
