We are a small rural business determined to be responsive to potential customers, and to make a positive impact on the environment and local community. We believe in the products we install and have made significant investments in sustainable energy ourselves, here on the farm. We’ve done this for the same reasons that you’re probably thinking about sustainable energy – because it’s cost effective and because it’s good for the planet. We don’t see our relationship with our customers ending once the final cheque has been signed, either. We keep contact with our old customers and pay particular attention to the efficiency of their systems. Though our “Generation Game” we’ve been able to ensure that our customers really are generating what we expected them to generate.
(1) We are responsive to your needs
We will assist you through all stages of the installation. This includes helping with securing grants/loans where applicable. As we are not tied to any particular manufacturer or technology we are able to offer unbiased advice as to which technologies and products are most suitable for your project.
(2) We have genuine environmental commitment
Caplor Farm won the 2009 West Midlands C+ Carbon Positive Award for cutting its carbon emissions and internally managing its carbon footprint. The business is powered by a wind turbine (which was recently shortlisted for the NEMEX Renewables Innovation Award), and it has also recently installed an onsite solar PV system. The farm is active in the local Carbon Rationing Action Group (CRAG).
3) We are a small, community-oriented business
We operate from Caplor Farm, which was first run by Gareth Williams’ grandfather; then by his father, mother and now by Gareth himself. The farm has been visited by Fownhope primary school, and has planted trees as part of the Fownhope 350 campaign. The farm has also worked with the Hereford-based charity Concern Universal to develop a project for pioneering new farming models in The Gambia. We place a strong emphasis on the sustainability of our operations.
(4) We are part of the MCS microgeneration and REAL accreditation schemes
Caplor Energy is a member of the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS). This is an independent scheme that certifies microgeneration products and installers in accordance with consistent standards. It is designed to evaluate microgeneration products and installers against robust criteria providing greater protection for consumers.
The MCS is the only certification scheme to cover all microgeneration products and services, and has support from the Department of Energy and Climate Change, industry and non-governmental groups as a prime method for making a substantial contribution to cutting the UK’s dependency on fossil fuels and carbon dioxide emissions.
The REAL Assurance Scheme has been set up by the Renewable Energy Association. It aims to guarantee a high quality experience for consumers wishing to buy or lease small generation units for their home, for a community building or for a small business. REAL membership is a sign that the supplier has agreed to abide by the high standards as set out in our Consumer Code. The REAL logo is a symbol of professional excellence.
Caplor Energy provides the clearest possible information, the highest quality customer service and the most appropriate systems before, during and after a contract is agreed. Please browse this site for countrywide listings of REAL members.
