What next?

Burghill, HerefordshireHopefully you will have a good idea from reading our website as to the suitability of your property or business for a solar PV system. If you’re not sure then the easiest thing to do is to ring us and we’ll happily talk through the options with you or get in touch through our contact form with any questions.

It’s very important to us that our customers are clear right from the beginning just how the whole installation process works. Below we have described how our process works with the emphasis being on making this as simple as possible and guiding you through each stage.

Site Survey

We can give you an idea of what might be feasible from talking to you on the phone and doing a quick postcode search. We would then look to arrange a site survey where one of our experienced technicians will come to your property or business and carry out an in-depth analysis of the site and it’s suitability for a solar PV installation. We would take photographs, measure up and discuss with you the technology, products and any other questions you may have.

Design & Quotation

Assuming your site is suitable, our expert design team will put together  the best system for your needs in accordance to any preferences you may have specified. At this point we can then provide you with a specific quotation for the work and give you a clear indication of when we should be able to install your system. In addition to providing a quotation, our comprehensive proposal document guides you through the products, service information, the Feed-In Tariff scheme and our terms & conditions. Included with the proposal is an order form.

Placing an order

If you are happy with the quotation and would like Caplor Energy to install a solar PV system, then you would place an order using the order form and pay the deposit. At this stage we would then book a specific date to carry out the installation work which suits your wishes.

Energy Assessment

If you don’t already have an Energy Performance Certificate EPC of a level D or above, then we will arrange an assessment to be carried out. We will arrange a time for one of our Accredited Energy Assessors to visit your property. The EPC will be returned to us within 7 days. If simple measures can be carried out that will bring your property up to a D or above we will arrange to carry these out at no extra cost to you at the same time as the installation of your solar system. If your property doesn’t achieve a D then you have the option to carry out more extensive energy efficiency measures, which we can help you with, cancel your order or go ahead and install but receive a lower rate feed-in tariff.

Installation

Our helpful and hard-working team of experienced installation technicians will then typically spend 2-3 days at your property fitting the panels and framework to your roof, and connecting the inverter to your electrical system. All our work is guaranteed and we pride ourselves on working to the highest possible standards. Don’t just take our word for it though – have a look at some of our testimonials.

Testing & Commissioning

Once the system is installed we will then carry out a series of electrical tests. Once these have been signed off by our fully qualified electricians, your system will be ready to go and start generating solar electricity. At this point we will then correspond with your District Network Operator to inform them that the new system has been commissioned.

Payment & Feed-In Tariff Application

We ask for the remainder of the payment to be made within 7 days of completing the installation. Once this has gone through we would then help you with the documentation required to claim the Feed-In Tariff. This is done through your electricity supplier. To help with this we have put together a list of suppliers and the best way to make your FIT application with each one. Click here to view more details.
