About Us

Our award winning family business has operated from Caplor Farm, Fownhope since 1923. It has a rich history, being first run by Gareth Williams’ grandfather; then by his father, mother and now by Gareth himself.  The Caplor Group now operates from three main hubs. These being Caplor Farm; Caplor Energy and Caplor Property.

Though each of these hubs is inevitably concerned with remaining profitable, none are willing to do so at the expense of the environment. Rather than focusing merely on profitability, we advocate the more sustainable approach of “triple bottom-line accounting“, with a keen awareness of social, environmental and economic issues.

1. Social: Making a positive contribution to the surrounding community.
2. Environmental
: Reducing our carbon emissions and environmental impact.
3. Economic:
Diversifying our income and responding positively to change.

Wherever possible we wish to work in partnership with others so that we can build an exemplar business that is inclusive and open. We wish to develop, diversify and positively contribute towards enhancing a sustainable community.

In all our dealings we always aim to -

  • Improve and develop
  • Be accountable for what we do
  • Work to develop a strong sense of community
  • Inspire – ourselves and those we work with

Currently, we farm approx. 400 acres of combinable crops and grow 150 acres of potatoes annually.
